3:30pm| South West | 25 minutes | Powerful | Velvet, Floral and Lace
With Beth we decided to pull a bunch of cards to make it even more challenging. Velvet felt like a challenge, being she already wore the green velvet dress in her winter queen shoot, so we pulled two more wardrobe choices. We started searching through the client closet when we stumbled upon the red velvet tank, and Beth knew exactly where to take it next. She went full pirate chic, and as much as we joked about it, it really helped everything come together.
We started here in Perry, Georgia and after a quick stop off at Flat Creek Public Fishing area we headed down on 75 South. We took one of the exits that head towards Montezuma, Georgia and headed west. We didn't drive far before we found the old beat down abandoned garage. As soon as we started shooting some big storms started rolling in, they ended up being the perfect touch to the powerful feel we were going for!
In Beth's words:
When the Universe Decides, you just do the damn thing. And that is exactly what Tara and I did.
We drove around aimlessly until we hit our time and distance marks where we discovered some amazing abandoned buildings as storm clouds began to form in the background.
Floral and velvet were our outfit items, and every shot we took incorporated them both.
The theme was power, but honestly, I immediately envisioned power meaning visible strength that would depict muscles and harsh lines, but as the shoot evolved, I realized the true meaning of power to me personally- the ability to be self-empowered.
My gazes were hard, yet my body language was more feminine. I’m dressed from head to toe proving boudoir does not require one to be in various states of undress.
As the old adage states, “Knowledge is power.” Well my knowledge has expanded to realize power is self-empowerment in it’s own right. Empower yourself to let the Universe Decide and do the damn thing!
