Meet Tara
Hello all!
I’m Tara, the voice and person behind the camera here at TaraLyn Photography. When I married a guy in the military I knew we would have a life of adventure and consider us extremely lucky to be able to travel (one of my favorite things) with our crazy little miss. Our crazy life has allowed my career to grow and change in the most unexceptionally wonderful ways.
I have spent the last lot of years evolving my relationship with photography. I’ve experimented with different styles and genres and ultimately found myself creating a mix of all my favorites. Each with the common themes of, body positivity and empowerment.
One thing you should know about me is that I’m not the type of photographer that will pose everyone just so and make sure there isn’t a single hair out place, instead I’m the photographer that you will laugh with (and most likely at). I will guide you through the entire session through what I like to call leading prompts. My goal is to push beyond the typical photoshoot and embrace all the bits and pieces that make you who you are.
I love what I do. It is so rewarding seeing my clients boost in confidence and self worth by embracing what makes each of us so unique. I like to compare what I do to a mute button for society. Because when you think about it society will give each and everyone of us a thousand things to critique about ourselves, it is my job to help you tune them out and focus on what makes you the powerhouse you are!
So you might be asking where did this passion for photography and empowering others begin. Or you might not care, which is totally cool too. But I’m going to tell you anyway…
I fell in love with photography years ago during my first photography class in high school. I remember that first assignment when I pulled out my developed film and found it completely black. I failed. But that failure made where I am today that much more rewarding. Learn all about my history here.
My passion for photography grew overtime, including my desire to embrace and push the narrative of body positivity. I wanted to help women like me find their voice and solidify that they are worthy. Okay enough about me for now, let’s get back to you! That is why you’re here right?
