Dreams Really Do Come True - From Winter Queen to Becoming a 2020 Brand Ambassador for TaraLyn Photography
My first shoot with Tara was a styled, Women’s Empowerment shoot. If you read my first blog post, you will have read of how I came to meet Tara and was transformed into “The Winter Queen.”
But, the story continues...
After a couple of weeks talking with Tara and my husband...I like to let him think he has say in what I do—insert winking emoji here...I decided to take the plunge and apply to be one of her 2020 Brand Ambassadors.
This choice was an easy one for me.
I have always stood behind Women’s Empowerment and embracing one’s true self, but never knew what kind of platform I should chose to use to achieve this goal. My 2019 mantra and vision revolved around the philosophy of embracing myself as the “Perfectly, Imperfect,” woman I had become.
While shooting the “Winter Queen” shoot, Tara and I spoke a lot about her history as a photographer, the circumstances that brought her to the local area, and what her hopes were for her photography business in the upcoming year.
She had me hook, line and sinker when she admitted her photography style had evolved over the years and how she truly wanted her 2020 business to be based on the philosophy of being “Unapologetically You!”
To me, that screamed Women’s Empowerment.
“Unapologetically You” has been her calling card for a few years now, but she spoke of how she really wanted embrace this ideology in 2020.
She told me she was striving to solicit a small group of local, diverse women, in the form of Brand Ambassadors, who could help her achieve her rebranding goal.
She wasn’t looking for models, and sorry for the cliche here, but she was looking for the “everyday woman” like me and you!
So here I am!
I’m a 32 year-old, full-time working wife, and mother of an amazing three year-old son. I go to the grocery store in my pajamas; I prepare countless peanut butter and jelly sandwiches even though they rarely get eaten; I struggle to get out the door on time for work due to my three-nager insisting he is Spider-Man and ensuring me Spider-Man gets to wear pajamas to school.
